Dr. Brad, what is your approach to Integrative Medicine?

Unlike other Integrative Medicine practices, where patients consult with a health team consisting of one MD and other alternative health practitioners (a scenario which often requires multiple appointments and consistent though complex communication), my approach is entirely comprehensive. As a doctor with conventional medical training and expertise in a variety of alternative health disciplines, I offer a unique and individualized Patient/Practitioner relationship – a “one-stop-shop” experience, if you will – for the gamut of conventional and alternative therapies.

In a typical office visit, for example; I may prescribe medications and/or herbs, provide hands-on body work or acupuncture treatment, walk a client to the on-property gym and provide fitness recommendations, or make nutritional or sleep recommendations. Each client is different and requires a case-by-case scenario, however, having experience and training in a range of conventional and alternative techniques allows me to find the best approach for every individual.

In addition, my medical practice is based out of two offices – one in San Francisco and one at Cavallo Point Lodge (San Francisco Bay Area, Marin County, CA). One phenomenal attribute about the Cavallo Point property is direct access to fitness activities. We have a gym – not to mention miles of hiking trails, offering some of the best views in the Bay Area. During longer consultations, I’ll often suggest to my clients that we go for a walk. If we’re discussing exercise, we’ll walk to the gym and practice new exercise programs and modifications then and there. As you can imagine, this environment fosters a hands-on approach to wellness.
